Message to visitors from the pastor

Hello Friend!

If you happened on our website or were invited here by a friend, let me extend a warm welcome to you in Jesus’ name! As pastor, I’d like to take the time to just share a little message of hope. Our stated vision as a church is to be a family in the truest sense of the word. There are no strangers at Snow Prairie, we are family in Christ and we look forward to welcoming all who want to live for Christ into our family.

At Snow Prairie, we place the highest priority on the Bible as the true and living word of God. We teach the whole book, not just the parts that are easy or comfortable. We take seriously the call to proclaim “the whole counsel of God.” (Acts 20:27-28)

As a pastor, I remember praying and seeking the Lord’s will as to how my ministry outlook ought to be defined. Something God impressed on my heart were two verses

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

John 3:17

All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.

John 6:37

Many people think of God as a cosmic killjoy just waiting to blast us when we fall short, but these verses show otherwise. Christ entered into this world to save all who would believe on Him (John 3:16). Jesus Himself promised in John 6:37 that He would not reject or cast out anyone who comes to Him. God demonstrated His love for us in that while we were still lost and steeped in sin, Christ was sent to die for us. You don’t have to get “good enough” to come to God anymore than you have to get cleaned up before you take a shower! Christ compels all to come, and we come, as the hymn says, just as we are without one plea. Come to God on His terms and throw yourself on His mercy and He will receive you and clean you up as HE sees fit.

If I could give any message to a visitor happening by here it is this, God does not love sin, but He loves and has compassion on sinners who penitently seek His face. He loved you enough to send Jesus to die for you, paying your debt of sin to give you new life and a relationship with Him. All you have to do is confess your sins and receive by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ that all you need has been done on the cross of Christ; simply trust and believe. You cannot earn heaven, it has already been purchased for you, the ticket is Jesus Christ.

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. Ephesisans 2:8-9
